This template may be used in Wiktionary entries to format quotations from Aphra Behn's work The Luckey Chance, or An Alderman’s Bargain (1st edition, 1687). It may be used to create a link to an online version of the work at Google Books (archived at the Internet Archive).
The template takes the following parameters:
|chapter=
– if quoting from a chapter indicated in the second column of the following table, give the parameter the value indicated in the first column:Parameter value | Result |
---|---|
Epilogue | Epilogue. Written by a Person of Quality, Spoken by Mr. Betterton. |
Epistle Dedicatory | To the Right Honourable Laurence, Lord Hyde, Earl of Rochester, |
Preface | Preface |
Prologue | Prologue Spoken by Mr. Jevon |
|1=
or |page=
to specify "page number" assigned by Google Books to the URL of the webpage to be linked to. For example, if the URL is https://books.google.com/books?id=iOZiAAAAcAAJ&pg=PP9
, specify |page=9
.|1=
or |page=
, or |pages=
– mandatory: the page number(s) quoted from. If quoting a range of pages, note the following:|pages=10–11
.|pageref=
to indicate the page to be linked to (usually the page on which the Wiktionary entry appears).|act=
– mandatory in some cases: in most cases, if the page number is specified the template can determine the act number quoted from. However, it is unable to do so if page 27, 42, or 54 is quoted from, in which case the act number must be manually specified in uppercase Roman numerals, like this: |act=II
.Act I pages 1–15 |
Act II pages 16–27 |
Act III pages 27–42 |
Act IV pages 42–54 |
Act V pages 54–69 |
|scene=
– mandatory in some cases: in most cases, if the page number is specified the template will determine the scene number quoted from. However, it is unable to do so if page 8, 27, 30, 32, 33, 41, or 54 is quoted from, in which case the scene number must be manually specified in lowercase Roman numerals, like this: |scene=i
.|2=
, |text=
, or |passage=
– the passage to be quoted.|footer=
– a comment about the passage quoted.|brackets=
– use |brackets=on
to surround a quotation with brackets. This indicates that the quotation either contains a mere mention of a term (for example, "some people find the word manoeuvre hard to spell") rather than an actual use of it (for example, "we need to manoeuvre carefully to avoid causing upset"), or does not provide an actual instance of a term but provides information about related terms.{{RQ:Behn Luckey Chance|page=5|passage=Thus have I lain conceal'd like a vvinter Fly, hoping for ſome bleſt Sun-Shine to vvarm me into Life again, and make me '''hover''' my flagging VVings; {{...}}}}
