This template may be used in Wiktionary entries to format quotations from Elizabeth Barrett Browning's work Casa Guidi Windows (1st edition, 1851). It can be used to create a link to an online version of the work at the Internet Archive.
The template takes the following parameters:
|chapter=
– if quoting from the advertisement specify |chapter=Advertisement
, and if quoting from the notes specify |chapter=Notes
.|1=
or |stanza=
– mandatory: the stanza number quoted from in uppercase Roman numerals. The work is divided into two parts, and the stanza number starts from I in each part.|2=
or |page=
, or |pages=
– mandatory: the page number(s) quoted from in Arabic or lowercase Roman numerals as the case may be. If quoting a range of pages, note the following:
|pages=10–11
or |pages=v–vi
.|pageref=
to indicate the page to be linked to (usually the page on which the Wiktionary entry appears).|3=
, |text=
, or |passage=
– the passage to be quoted.|footer=
– a comment on the passage quoted.|brackets=
– use |brackets=on
to surround a quotation with brackets. This indicates that the quotation either contains a mere mention of a term (for example, "some people find the word manoeuvre hard to spell") rather than an actual use of it (for example, "we need to manoeuvre carefully to avoid causing upset"), or does not provide an actual instance of a term but provides information about related terms.{{RQ:Browning Casa Guidi Windows|stanza=V|page=90|passage=Forgive me, ghosts of patriots,— {{...}} / {{...}} —for being taught in vain / That while the illegitimate Cæsars show / Of meaner stature than the first full strain, / (Confessed incompetent to conquer Gaul) / They swoon as feebly and cross '''Rubicons''' / As rashly as any ] of them all.}}
