This template may be used on Wiktionary entry pages to quote Harold Lamb's work Forward as it was first published in Adventure (1st edition, 1924). It can be used to create a link to an online version of the work at the Internet Archive.
The template takes the following parameters:
|1=
or |page=
, or |pages=
– mandatory in some cases: the page number(s) quoted from. When quoting a range of pages, note the following:
|pages=10–11
.|pageref=
to indicate the page to be linked to (usually the page on which the Wiktionary entry appears).|column=
or |columns=
– the column number(s) quoted from, either |column=1
or |column=2
. If quoting from both columns, either omit this parameter or separate the column numbers with an en dash, like this: |columns=1–2
.|2=
, |text=
, or |passage=
– the passage to be quoted.|footer=
– a comment on the passage quoted.|brackets=
– use |brackets=on
to surround a quotation with brackets. This indicates that the quotation either contains a mere mention of a term (for example, “some people find the word manoeuvre hard to spell”) rather than an actual use of it (for example, “we need to manoeuvre carefully to avoid causing upset”), or does not provide an actual instance of a term but provides information about related terms.{{RQ:Harold Lamb Forward|page=25|column=1|passage=I spurred on the Turani instead of pulling him in, and stood up in the saddle just as we came upon the two. By '''feinting''' a slash at one I made him throw up his saber to guard his head. Then, leaning down as the three ponies came together, I cut at the other's neck, getting home over his blade. His mount reared and shelled him out of the saddle like a pea out of a pod.}}
