Documentation for Template:deprecated code. [edit]
This page contains usage information, categories, interwiki links and other content describing the template.

This template should be used in conjunction with successfully deprecated templates, i.e. templates that are deprecated and where all uses of the template have been eliminated. It can also be used with conditionally-deprecated templates, i.e. where certain uses of the template (e.g. using the |lang= parameter instead of |1=) have been deprecated and all such uses eliminated. It formats the output of the template call with the .deprecated CSS class (which by default displays the output in olive green), precedes it with some text (by default "deprecated template usage") and categorizes the page in Category:Pages using deprecated templates (for entries and content pages) or Category:Pages using deprecated templates/other (for other pages, such as talk pages).

Parameters

  • |1=: The template call.
  • |active= (optional): Control whether deprecation is active. Use this in conjunction with conditionally-deprecated templates. If the value is no, the deprecation is inactive; otherwise it's active.
  • |text= (optional): Text to display before the template output (by default "deprecated template usage").
  • |tooltip= (optional): Tooltip text to display when the user hovers over the template output (by default "This is a deprecated template usage.").
