Normally there is only one parameter to specify. Normally this should specify whether a comparative is present, e.g. for gulur (“yellow”), which has a comparative:

{{is-adecl|comp}}

which produces

If the adjective has no comparative, use -comp, e.g. for aðfenginn (“borrowed, obtained elsewhere”):

{{is-adecl|-comp}}

which produces

Note that the module automatically knows how to handle the declension of adjectives in -inn, -aður, -legur, etc. In most cases no parameters other than those controlling the comparative and superlative are required.

There is also an optional |id= parameter: if this template occurs more than once on a page, all of them must have an |id= specified for the scraping functionality of {{is-adj}} to work.
