Etymology

Coined by Brazilian writer and journalist Francisco da Silveira Bueno in 1960. As Bueno himself described, it was formed by a seemingly Old Tupi compound of embu (place) +‎ ara (full of light, good weather) +‎ ama (many). Apart from 'ara, however, none of these words existed in that language.[1]
