This is a good reference but searching it can be frustrating because documentation is limited.

Here's what we have found out so far:

Your settings should be:

• for viewing parameters (link at the top: "Change viewing parameters"), put encoding to UTF8 and uncheck everything else.
• the "Sort By" slection near the top should be set to Greek
• the query method (right hand column) should be set to Match beginning

With all of that set, here is what we know about the transcription for Greek words.

You have to write your term in brackets and the first character in the brackets has to be a capital G for Greek. (This interface is used for Russian and other scripts as well.)

Circumflex is still unknown. Bear in mind that the index does not go to the end of the alphabet, so any word beginning with υ or later will not appear.

That's all we have, if you get any more clues, please fill them in. Be warned that sometimes the search engine will silently throw away garbage characters without complaining, so you will have to do some testing to see if your combination really works.
