The purpose of this project is to explore phonological developments in Déise Irish by establishing lexical sets based on a relationship between certain phonemes and the orthography. In order to achieve this goal, the orthography will utilise a Dinneen-style of pre-reform spelling that is more etymologically linked to Old Irish while making certain phonological and morphological adjustments where necessary. The phonemes will be mostly derived from Breatnach's book, but some adjustments will be made based on further considerations as to how the phonology can be best represented where I feel Breatnach falls short.
