Teng-4 |
This user has a near-native understanding of Tengwar. |
I started learning Latin about seven months ago, and I can read Latin very well, only occasionally needing a dictionary. I am needing to learn as quickly as possible, so if there is anyone who wants to have a conversation in latin, I would like to take the challenge.
I am a native speaker of English, and understand fully the latin script. I also can speak some Japanese, and I can read Katakana and Hiragana with near-native understanding; however, I am terrible with Kanji. I can generally get by conversationally with universally understood body language.
Tengwar is one of the useless scripts I know; I don't understand any of the Tolkienian languages, however. I apologize to all Tolkien fans out there.
I am translating The Lord of the Rings into Latin as a learning experience. For most Tolkienian words, I am keeping them the same; however, some are translatable (such as Westmarch), so I may translate those. If you have any suggestions, please go to the talk page for the Tolkienian Latin Lexicon.
I am also translating Commentarii de Bello Gallico from Latin to English. However, I am only going to specific persons for help, and only when needed.
