Whtevi
Etymology
From Old Whtevi sapt, saspt, from Awen *saspt, *saspət, from earlier *saspetə, from Proto-Lyndian *t͡saspet͡sV (“seven”), from *t͡saspe + *-t͡sV. Cognates include Modern Basque zazpi.
It is suggested that *t͡saspe is polymorphemic, having the original meaning of "two with five", in which case the likely deconstruction of the root is *-(r)t͡s-, an affix carrying the meaning of "five", + *-as, a definite comitative suffix, + *pe < *be, a root carrying the meaning of "pair" (conjectured to constitute many Basque anatomical terms, e.g. begi (eye)).
