I'm an attorney and I practice in the area of U.S. Immigration Law. Over the years, I've participated in news groups on the internet, volunteering general information (not case specific legal advice) to do-it-yourselfers that might not otherwise be available to them from other sources.
While volunteering I have observed many people on these groups who are not licensed attorneys and who develop the hobby/habit/addiction of rendering case specific legal advice to others.
The related term "notario" has long been used to describe non-attorneys (unlicensed individuals) who render legal services to people in the "real world" (and this often comes up in the U.S. immigration law context), and since their on-line counterparts are now so prevalent, I believe they should be recognized and identified with the new term, "net-tario".
