hi! I'm mati (/ˈmɑːtʃi/ · pt-br: ) — my pronouns are they/them, but you can use she or he if your language doesn't have a good word for they. I speak Brazilian Portuguese (natively), English (fluently, at a practically native level), and also some Japanese (intermediate-ish), not to mention the mostly-dormant Esperanto. I've dabbled in a few other languages, and will make edits to those sometimes (usually minor stuff, though, of course).

to do

  • clean up etymology of Japanese nashi, which cites GYJ (very unreliable). the word is attested in Old Japanese at least 3 times, I checked, but I'll add that later. — done! also cleaned up readings and removed りん, which isn't really kan'yōon but a irregular one-off, like 文 (も) in 文字
  • clean up the kanjitabs for all the altforms of 天邪鬼 amanojaku
  • conjugation of Japanese ~する verbs like 愛する, 達する, 関する, etc, especially the potential forms — how common is 達せられる, the "normative" (?) potential, and do people avoid it or use 達せる instead, and so on?
