- @Stríðsdrengur Just so you know: changing apostrophes to curly single quotes is revertable when it's in headwords, entry names or references to entry names such as links, inflection table items, etc. That's because we don't use curly quotes in entry names in order to avoid duplication and because of the difficulty for those who don't have an easy way to type them. Changing them in text such as quotes or usage examples is unnecessary fussiness, but reverting those changes is probably unnecessary fussiness, as well. - @Chuck Entz Well, I'm really at my wit's end then. I added these quotes waaay back, years ago. Adam78 started changing them to typographic apostrophes and quotes, at least the ones he randomly came across. So should I now revert all to apostrophes and dumb quotes? In other words, these are the only instances where they matter. Outside of them, people can do either way, so there's no "mess". Outside of the above-mentioned cases, I will still use curly quotes if I've already opened an article for editing, but I won't start a crusade against typewriter quotes.
