Many of the definitions of taxonomic names are inadequate. But we need our definitions to be brief and rely on other databases to convey in-depth information. It would be great if you could work on improving the quality of the definitions that really need it. See Category:Taxonomic names needing vernacular names. It is misnamed because vernacular names may not really be what is missing and vernacular names may not even exist. If you like extinct organisms or dinosaurs and want to improve their definitins, you could search for them using 'hastemplate:"taxon" extinct' or 'hastemplate:"taxon" dinosaur' in the search box.
