Chlöe as misspelling

It may very well be a misspelling, but it's also the first name of a NZ public figure: https://en.wikipedia.orghttps://dictious.com/en/Chl%C3%B6e_Swarbrick

Names are also difficult because of the increasing number of "unique" spellings that parents like to establish. I was assuming though that this was more widespread than this public figure. But I might be wrong. Unfortunately I don't know a search engine that restricts searches by diacritics. Cameron.coombe (talk) 01:43, 27 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Google does:
From that I came up with w:Chloe Bailey (who uses it as an artifical w:mononym) as well as w:Chlöe Howl (a mistake on her birth certificate) and w:Chloë Sevigny (who added the dieresis later in life). All of these uses are deviations from Chloe or Chloë (though Swarbrick's seems genuine), but I agree that is is a name in its own right and would support a change to reflect the fact that it plays off the rules of dieresis to create something unique.
Let's not be judgemental (unlike the page Sammi, which says it's a "fanciful respelling"), but reflect the fact that it is a deviation from the way dieresis is usually used in English, because that's interesting. Citation unneeded (talk) 14:23, 27 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Citation unneeded cool, I somehow assumed Google didn't do that, but I must be getting mixed up with another thing.
I've changed it to alternative spelling. Feel free to adjust it if you think of something better! Cameron.coombe (talk) 20:52, 30 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
