Welcome

Hello, welcome to Wiktionary, and thank you for your contributions so far.

If you are unfamiliar with wiki-editing, take a look at Help:How to edit a page. It is a concise list of technical guidelines to the wiki format we use here: how to, for example, make text boldfaced or create hyperlinks. Feel free to practice in the sandbox. If you would like a slower introduction we have a short tutorial.

These links may help you familiarize yourself with Wiktionary:

  • Entry layout (EL) is a detailed policy on Wiktionary's page formatting; all entries must conform to it. The easiest way to start off is to copy the contents of an existing same-language entry, and then adapt it to fit the entry you are creating.
  • Check out Language considerations to find out more about how to edit for a particular language.
  • Our Criteria for Inclusion (CFI) defines exactly which words can be added to Wiktionary; the most important part is that Wiktionary only accepts words that have been in somewhat widespread use over the course of at least a year, and citations that demonstrate usage can be asked for when there is doubt.
  • If you already have some experience with editing our sister project Wikipedia, then you may find our guide for Wikipedia users useful.
  • If you have any questions, bring them to Wiktionary:Information desk or ask me on my talk page.
  • Whenever commenting on any discussion page, please sign your posts with four tildes (~~~~) which automatically produces your username and timestamp.
  • You are encouraged to add a BabelBox to your userpage to indicate your self-assessed knowledge of languages.

Hey, thanks for adding those recent words of yours. I had to do a little clean-up on them, please compare the changes, so that when you go to add more new words, you are familiar with the procedure :) Vininn126 (talk) 12:19, 20 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Some pointers

I see improvement. A few more things to fix - usually etymology goes first, unless a word has two etymology. Compare wypierać with kataryniarz‎. Please put a hard enter between each section, and no spaces between the header and the equal signs. Please check Category:Polish templates for conjugation and declination templates. wywiesić is not a -yć verb (zobaczyć is), but rather a -ić verb. And you don't need to enter all that stuff for further reading, the templates automatically work without extra work. Rhymes start from the second to last vowel and go to the end, and in one-vowel words, from the vowel to the end. Vininn126 (talk) 11:29, 21 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

{{pl-p}}

Hey, thank you for your recent contributions. One note regarding the {{pl-p}} template: it automatically creates a bulleted list, so it's unnecessary to add an asterisk in front of it in the page's code, like * {{pl-p}}; see my recent changes in komornik.

I assume you've come across such notation on another page, so if you could take the moment to remove the asterisk when you happen upon something like that again, that'd be superb. It's not extremely important as it changes nothing visually, but it's superfluous and makes for confusing code. Cheers and keep up the good work! Hythonia (talk) 13:28, 31 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
