Verbs

Hey, please don't lemmatise at the stem with a dash. Find some better form, like the infinitive or the imperative. Thanks. Thadh (talk) 18:17, 19 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Alright, I did it only because I saw all other Even verbs were like this. Milan778 (talk) 22:36, 19 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I'm sorry about that, we had a serially bad editor for years who jumped from language to language and had no idea what they're doing. Since we didn't have any Even editors, nobody could fix it.
I'm glad you're here by the way, welcome! If you have any questions about how Wiktionary works, feel free to ask me, I would be happy to help. Thadh (talk) 07:22, 20 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
By the way, now I'm here: How do you feel about creating a reference template? It's generally a good idea to include a reference per entry whenever possible because that way the readers know where our information comes from. Compare {{R:kpv:Podorova:1948}} and {{R:kpv:Bubrikh:1949}} for how to make one. Thadh (talk) 07:26, 20 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Is this alright? R:eve:Tsintsius:1952 Milan778 (talk) 08:08, 20 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
No idea why it does not work, heres a link https://en.wiktionary.orghttps://dictious.com/en/Template:R:eve:Tsintsius:1952 Milan778 (talk) 08:09, 20 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
I would convert it to a {{cite-book}} template, but otherwise it's fine! Thadh (talk) 09:10, 20 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

What is the chance the tungusic swadesh list is full of mistakes?

Ive noticed that https://en.wiktionary.orghttps://dictious.com/en/Appendix:Tungusic_Swadesh_lists this page has different words in Even than my dictionary. Is it likely the list is wrong? Milan778 (talk) 02:37, 21 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Also, when adding words, should i add it with the long vowels if needed like а̄ е̄ ӣ о̄ ӯ ы̄ э̄ я̄ or without the line? Milan778 (talk) 02:46, 21 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
It's possible that the list is wrong, but I would use multiple dictionaries rather than one to confirm that.
As for the length marks, they should be given in the headword but not in the entryname: Compare how Evenki does it at ӈо. Thadh (talk) 06:08, 21 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
alright, can you help me with this? https://en.wiktionary.orghttps://dictious.com/en/%D0%BC%D0%B0%D0%B3%D0%B4%D0%B8%D0%BB%D0%B8#Noun
I cant get it to function, I tried everything Milan778 (talk) 07:16, 21 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
You should try making a language-specific headword template at {{eve-noun}} akin to {{evn-noun}}. Thadh (talk) 16:11, 21 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hmm, I deleted your attempt at {{eve-noun}}. Something was wrong with it. I'm not actually sure you need such a template but as User:Thadh has suggested it I won't delete it again if you produce a working version. Benwing2 (talk) 07:24, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Sadly I’m new and I still dont know how most things work Milan778 (talk) 08:48, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
I've also noticed that https://en.wiktionary.orghttps://dictious.com/en/Appendix:Tungusic_Swadesh_lists has some problems you mentioned above. --MiiCii (talk) 08:02, 30 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Even sources

Do you use any dictionaries for Even? I couldn't find any Russian-Even PDF dictionary, but found a digital dictionary that helps me a lot. If you don't know, you should definitely use it: Ardahan Karabağ (talk) 10:43, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

I have a physical Russian-Even dictionary : Cincius, V. I., Rišes, L. D. (1952) Русско-эвенский словарь , Moscow Milan778 (talk) 18:53, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hello. It is necessary to give the Russian headword and preferably also the page number like this when referencing that print dictionary. Vahag (talk) 19:04, 31 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Ulch

Hi, thank you for contributing on Tungusic entries! While I am working on PTg entries, I sometimes doubt that if the Ulch words are %100 correct because the dictionary I use different letters. (such as "ʒу" instead of "дю"}} So Which one is more proper? And do you use a dictionary for Ulch? Ardahan Karabağ (talk) 14:50, 28 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm not sure if you're refering to the words or the phrases.
For the words I use:
Sunik, O. P., Vipokurova, V. V. (1987) Словарь ульчско-русский и русско-ульчский , Leningrad
For the phrases I use :
Angina, S. V. (1993) РУССКО - УЛЬЧСКИЙ разговорник , Bogorodskoye
The first one is a dictionary, and the second one is a phrasebook. What do you use? I'd appreciate if you could tell me the title, author, and year of publishment of the dictionary you use. Milan (talk) 15:55, 28 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
It is a Microsoft Word file, I don't know how can i send it :/ Ardahan Karabağ (talk) 13:45, 30 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
Edit: I've found: Ardahan Karabağ (talk) 13:48, 30 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Ardahan Karabağ In the 2009 Ulch schoolbook, the alphabet is given as on the Russian Wikipedia article. Definitely no ʒ, that seems to be an early Soviet remnant. Thadh (talk) 14:12, 30 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
Oh, thank you for the info. Ardahan Karabağ (talk) 21:18, 30 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
