@Joonas07: Would palatalised /b̥d̥ɡ̊/ still be semi-voiced even when in the beginning of the word? Thadh (talk) 19:28, 17 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

They're not really palatalized in the beginning of the word at all. "bdg" are always semi-voiced. Joonas07 (talk) 19:34, 17 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Joonas07: So, just to make sure, "baarium" would start with /b̥-/, not /p-/? Thadh (talk) 19:38, 17 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Oh wait, we use /p/ for /pˑ/, don't we... So, would pank be /b̥-/? Thadh (talk) 19:40, 17 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
pank would be /ˈpɑŋk/ and baarium would be /ˈb̥ɑːriu̯m/. Joonas07 (talk) 19:44, 17 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Joonas07 I've added the phonetic pronunciation according to this paper discussing it and occasionally checking some recordings. Could you take a look and tell me if I've forgotten anything or if something doesn't look right. Again, feel free to add your own testcases. Thadh (talk) 16:17, 19 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Couple of notes:
  • The combinations ts and tš shouldn't have t marked as half-long: IPA(key): /ˈtʃelːo/, should be and IPA(key): /ˈlɑɡ̊rits/, should be
  • What this template lacks and the previous one didn't is the conversion of all letters to lower case. Right now, capitalized proper nouns such as Eeden are transcribed with the first letter upper case: IPA(key): /ˈeːd̥en/,
