Hello, welcome to Wiktionary, and thank you for your contributions so far.
If you are unfamiliar with wiki-editing, take a look at Help:How to edit a page. It is a concise list of technical guidelines to the wiki format we use here: how to, for example, make text boldfaced or create hyperlinks. Feel free to practice in the sandbox. If you would like a slower introduction we have a short tutorial.
These links may help you familiarize yourself with Wiktionary:
- Entry layout (EL) is a detailed policy on Wiktionary's page formatting; all entries must conform to it. The easiest way to start off is to copy the contents of an existing same-language entry, and then adapt it to fit the entry you are creating.
- Check out Language considerations to find out more about how to edit for a particular language.
- Our Criteria for Inclusion (CFI) defines exactly which words can be added to Wiktionary; the most important part is that Wiktionary only accepts words that have been in somewhat widespread use over the course of at least a year, and citations that demonstrate usage can be asked for when there is doubt.
- If you already have some experience with editing our sister project Wikipedia, then you may find our guide for Wikipedia users useful.
- If you have any questions, bring them to Wiktionary:Information desk or ask me on my talk page.
- You are encouraged to add a BabelBox to your userpage to indicate your self-assessed knowledge of languages.

Hello friend! I don't want to seem annoying right away but I wanted to warn you to be more careful and attentive when creating new pages/entries in a new language (which I think you don't speak), try to look for references or quotes to add to the entries to improve, have a nice day/night! - It's not the easiest language to find quotes in. None of the books I use tend to include any such examples :/
- Suppose I could go through some of the fiction books for examples of use to fill out the entries a bit more. Should probably learn how to use the inflection tables as well. Vatterholm (talk) 01:19, 1 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
- That's a good start! It's really hard to find quotes for Sami family languages, I enjoy working with Northern Sami from time to time and I understand how you feel. Regarding the inflection templates, you could try looking at the other pages and learn/deduce how they work, it might make it a lot easier for you. - Something like I just added in gierkie you have in mind? 01:57, 1 December 2023 (UTC) Vatterholm (talk) 01:57, 1 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
- sure! I'm glad to know you're making progress Stríðsdrengur (talk) 02:08, 1 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
