My understanding is that the wind blows from the side, but the grinding stones are either attached to an axle that is powered from below or above. SemperBlotto (talk) 10:21, 31 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yes, you may be right. I was defining quite lazily, to be honest. I'm glad to have such eagle-eyed editors as your good self around here, Jeff. Tell me a little about your professional history, if you like. --XY3999 (talk) 10:25, 31 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I read that once - found a typo too, and mildly trolled you (sorry about that). --XY3999 (talk) 10:38, 31 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for filling in the missing info for the Sir Walter Scott quote.

A suggestion for further improving such contributions: Search for the quote (usually in Google Books); use {{quote-book}} to display the citation using the named parameters to take advantage of all the bibliographic info from the Google Books search results page, including the url Google provides. Doing this takes longer, but gives a great deal of info on the usage, including more context information (via the url}. Also you will often find that the work cited and the author have WP articles. Linking to those articles through {{w}} also can enrich the entry. It takes only a bit longer once you've got the hang of it, but does make for a better entry. The text isn't displaying properly. Any ideas? That RQ template bollox is an uninteresting mystery to me, alas. Equinox 12:32, 5 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
