Lule Sami is written using the character ä in Sweden, and æ in Norway. Since there are more Lule Sami speakers in Sweden than in Norway, Wiktionary follows the Swedish spelling and thus uses ä. Entries using æ can be created as alternative spellings of the ä spellings.
Modern Lule Sami orthography uses the character ŋ, as in Northern Sami. Older orthographies used the ń character in its place. Wiktionary follows the modern use of ŋ. Entries using the older ń can be created as obsolete spellings of the ŋ spellings.
