Some notes and additional rules:

  • Macrons are written above vowels if they are long. This is always the case for Δ“ and ō, sometimes the case for ā and Ε«, and never for Δ«. In the combination ei, the e does not receive a macron.
  • Acute accents are not used for ai and au. The difference between ai, aΓ­ and Γ‘i is purely etymological and does not necessarily reflect any difference in pronunciation except for length.
  • The letter 𐍅 is always transliterated as "w", even when it represents upsilon (Ξ₯ Ο…) in Greek loanwords.
  • Wiktionary creates soft redirects from transliterations of Gothic to Gothic-script pages, using both the above scheme and using hw in place of Ζ• and th in place of ΓΎ. Hence Ζ•ar and hwar both exist as soft redirects to πˆπŒ°π‚. Macrons are not added to the entry names of romanized entries, so the entry will be qino and not qinō.
