This article describes briefly the Greek-specific templates available in Wiktionary. These are the templates starting with the prefix el- such as {{el-noun}}. Templates are an easy way of accomplishing a standardised appearance for Wiktionary entries, they allow global changes to this format to be made without editing individual entries. Greek templates are grouped below according to the article sections where they are used. The headword or inflection line is immediately below the part of speech heading. At its simplest it is just the Headword in bold type, but in most cases a more complicated line is appropriate, this is most easily produced using a template. For example the Greek word for husband (παντρεμένος) has this headword line:
The headword in bold is followed by its transliteration, gender, and its plural and feminine forms.
All Greek words which undergo inflection will eventually have, immediately below their definitions, a Declension or Conjugation heading and a table of inflection. These are produced using a template with output such as that below for παντρεμένος:
