Iraqw (ISO code irk) is a Cushitic language spoken in Tanzania.

Wiktionary entries for this language should use the commonly used standard orthography rather than any scholarly orthographies or linguistic transcriptions. This orthography differs from that used by Marten Mous in A Grammar of Iraqw (1993) in the following ways: <sl> is used for /ɬ/ rather than Mous' <hl>, <'> is used for /ʔ/ rather than Mous' <ʾ>, and </> is used for /ʕ/ rather than Mous' <ʿ>. Although entries should be entered in this orthography, references using any orthography are admissible as long as they can be converted bijectively to it.

Note that currently, linking to words that begin with the character </> in places other than entries (like on talk pages or Appendix pages) is not straightforward due to technical concerns: a colon must be placed before the word in the link, so write ] to link to /ameeni.
