Old Occitan, also known as Old Provençal, was a Romance language spoken and written in southern France. To qualify as Old Occitan, entries must be attested before 1500 (1499 on earlier) as from 1500 onwards, entries will be considered modern Occitan or Catalan. The ISO 639-3 and Wiktionary code for Old Occitan is pro. Old Catalan, which does not have an ISO 639 code, is used on Wiktionary with the code roa-oca.

{{R:FEW}}), which uses the code apr. for Old Occitan (from the German altprovenzalisch). - Dictionnaire de l’occitan médiéval en ligne is, except for the letter A, based on the same FEW data, but is written in French. It's easier to handle for WT users not knowing German.
