If memory serves me well, in the infinitive (to follow his path), one translation is sequī sŭum sēmitam. Let us follow his path could be sequāmur sŭum sēmitam. — Beobach972 04:27, 16 May 2007 (UTC) The imperative (which seems warranted here) would be sequere, and path can simply be via. Finally referring to some other "his" (i.e. an individual who is not the subject of the sentence) uses "eius" or "illius", usually the former. So the first translation should be: sequere viam eius.

Speaking of follow : what verb is used in French for follow in the semi-abstract sense of ‘I am following his progress, and cheering for him’, ‘I am following (the news stories about) the scandal’? I would say in both cases, the normal translation for follow, which is suivre, will work. Google confirms that by attesting both phrases a fair number of times - there might be another way to say it, but at least this isn't wrong. Paul Willocx 00:20, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
