Poetry and song lyrics are very difficult to translate at all. If you add the constraints that both meaning and meter are to be preserved, it becomes virtually impossible. When songs are translated to another language in a way that is intended to be sung to the same melody, the meaning is sacrificed. If it fits the meter, the meaning will be completely different. It will be an entirely different song, except for the melody.
