English to Latin

Please help with the translation of, "for the one (person) beside me". I have asked this before ... but lost it unfortunately. It is a sentiment of camaraderie and selflessness between people working together to accomplish team goals. I know the Google translation is literal (therefore incorrect), and doesn't embody the concept of the phrase. Thanks.

pro homine iuxta me (for the person beside me)
pro iuxta me sedente (for the one sitting beside me)
pro iuxta me stante (for the one standing beside me)
pro socio meo (for my associate)

More Japanese to English

Context is, a boy tells his girlfriend "Why don't you just stay with me (at my house)" and then says "hurry and give me your answer" then says this: "塞ぐから" What is he saying? She responds, flustered (he's getting really close to her) saying "what?" and "ふさ?” They get interrupted after that so I don't know if he meant to say more.

also there's some small text on the side, but I can't read it. here's a screen cap: http://puu.sh/cGcUy/a2c204aaf4.png

I think it says けっこう長く -- User:66.190.73.157 01:47, 7 November 2014 (UTC)

The General (по-русски «Генерал») является талисманом американской автомобильной страховой компании «The General Automobile Insurance Services, Inc.» (на которую часто ссылаются как «Генерал»).
—Stephen (Talk) 11:05, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
Checked by me, I made some slight modifications. Are advertisements published or as a video? Depending on this, I might change the word объявление, it refers to an advertisement in a magazine or newspaper, not as a TV advertisement. A TV advertisement could be translated "рекламный ролик" (needs to be in a proper grammar case). --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 02:46, 19 November 2014 (UTC)

The General (Generalul în limba română) este mascota companiei americane de asigurari auto The General Automobile Insurance Services, Inc. (adesea menționată ca „The General”).
Comportament tipic
—Stephen (Talk) 13:12, 16 November 2014 (UTC)

Translate article: Victor: As many languages as possible (that are listed)

"Victor is a character from the episode "Ready Steady Yeti" of the television series Mona the Vampire. He is the primary antagonist of the episode.

Storyline

Victor was a ski patroller at the ski resort owned by Mr. Futtlesnuff. He has a French accent and was very mean to Mona Parker and her classmates when they came to the ski resort, for he said that he does not like children. Before he worked at the ski resort, he had accused Mountain Bill, a previous ski patroller, of cutting down trees in the ski resort without permission, which caused Mountain Bill to be fired and to move far away to a nearby mountain. However, at the end of the episode, it was discovered that Victor was the real person who cut down these trees, along with some lumberjacks that were helping him. After Mona, Lily Duncan, and Charley Bones caught Victor cutting down the trees, they took a picture of him in action. After presenting the picture to Mr. Futtlesnuff, Victor had gotten fired from the ski resort, and Mountain Bill was rehired.

Physical appearance

Victor wears a blue vest, long black gloves, some ski boots, and often either is wearing his skis on his boots and carrying his ski poles in his hands. He has a long nose, a small mustache, and he always wears a pair of glasses above his head."

Because it is written in the Latin alphabet, there is a lot of confusion and ambiguity. For example, venam could be from the verb वेनति (venati) or वेणति (veṇati). Nobody can translate that unless they happen to know the poem. —Stephen (Talk) 18:09, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
OK, here it is with diacritics. That should resolve all ambiguity:

I generally limit these free translations to about 5 minutes. I’ve spent over an hour trying to figure out what transliteration system was used, but I think it’s something they just made up, and on top of it they made typing errors. Besides that, there is something weird about the font they used, and I cannot copy it to another location to work on. If I try to copy it, the letters change. If this is important, you need to take it to a professional translator who will charge you by the word or by the hour. —Stephen (Talk) 19:31, 21 December 2014 (UTC)

Arabic to transliterated Arabic

سعيد عقل

What is that in non-chat form (without numerals)? WikiWinters (talk) 17:27, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
saʿīd ʿaql. I assume you're referring to Said Akl, in which case I don't need to impose MSA vowel endings on Lebanese Arabic. --WikiTiki89 17:35, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
Yes, you're correct. I wanted to add the transliteration to his Wiki page. Shall I add "Saʿīd ʿAql" (I'm not sure if capitalization is standard protocol)? WikiWinters (talk) 22:18, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
Wikipedians are addicted to capitalisation. I would question this capitalisation rule in Wikipedia (if it exists) because it doesn't make sense to capitalise Arabic (and many other languages) and it also may even cause misreadings, such as t/T, d/D, s/S, z/Z, h/H may be read as different consonants in Arabic. I would write "saʿīd ʿaql" and see if anyone objects. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 22:42, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
Regarding capitalization on Wikipedia: In my opinion, Wikipedia should adopt a policy not to use capitalization in transliterations of scripts that don't have capital letters. However, if there is already a contrary policy or precedent, then that is what you should follow. Wikipedia is not Wiktionary. --WikiTiki89 00:20, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
Fair enough (re: policies) but I'm aware not of such policies. Editors might just follow their intuition, not policies. There's certainly a problem with Arabic, Hindi, etcetera, to use capitalisations. I would certainly raise it, if I were active in Wikipedia. Precedents shouldn't count, they all can be fixed, a policy - yes but policies can also change when there are enough people opposing it and it's a legitimate concern. For certain languages without capital letters, it's a standard to capitalise names - Chinese Mandarin, Japanese, Korean (they don't have a problem with using capitalised vs lower case letters either). --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 00:37, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
An important distinction for types of transliterations should be also made. "saʿīd ʿaql" is a transliteration of the Arabic spelling and "Saʿīd ʿAql" may be considered an alternative English spelling, if that's the case, then the latter could be capitalised, of course. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 00:41, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
