Usage notes
The civil parish was renamed from Windermere on 29 July 2020; Bowness refers to Bowness-on-Windermere. It was in South Lakeland district until it was abolished and replaced by Westmorland and Furness on 1 April 2023. The parish includes most of the lake of Windermere, except its north end.
