First mentioned as Teschcowitz in 1360, later as (Reyncz de) Theskewicz (1361), Teskewicz (around 1400), Tetzschkewitz (1408), Teßkewitz (1419). The present-day form appeared already before 1561, then changed its form several times before its current name was finally concluded in 1791.[1]
