From Proto-Turkic *bagïrsuk. Cognate to Azerbaijani bağırsaq, Gagauz barsak, Turkish bağırsak.

Common use in Salar dialects, swallows the r sound that comes after the ğ sound, but its archaic form is preserved in the Hualong dialect: Salar boğdaq, but boğırdaği in Hualong; Salar yağnı, but yağırni in Hualong.
