Albanian
Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *darkā, from Proto-Indo-European *dorkʷ-o-. Cognate to Ancient Greek δόρπον (dórpon, “supper, dinner; evening”).[1] Has entered the declension of the feminine ā-stems. According to Alexander Lubotsky and Michiel de Vaan, considering the distribution of the term, both Greek and Albanian strongly suggest loans from the pre-Greek substrate.[2]
