Estonian

Etymology

From Proto-Finnic *itädäk +‎ -nema, stem from Proto-Uralic *itä- (to appear). Cognates in languages which have not extended the stem include Finnish itää, Votic iäte, Ingrian ittää, Livonian iddõ, Livvi idiä, Ludian id'ädä and Veps idäda; possibly also Northern Khanty єтты (êtty, to grow). Compare also Northern Yukaghir йэдэч (jedeț, to appear). This etymology is incomplete. You can help Wiktionary by elaborating on the origins of this term. EES and EEW do not claim this to be a Uralic stem, but a Finnic one which was borrowed from PIE. Is the info outdated?
