From quá-quá-quá or quiá-quiá-quiá, of onomatopoeic origin. Attested since at least 2002.[1] The laugh originated among Brazilians, but today is also used by the Portuguese and other Portuguese speakers. Compare Korean (k), which gave origin to English kek.
