Borrowed from Swahili mzinga.
Hinde (1904) records mtshinga as an equivalent of English gun in “Jogowini dialect” of Kikuyu, listing also “Ulu dialect” (spoken then from Machakos to coastal area) of Kamba musinga as its equivalent.
