mae
mae (ergative maengg, dative maew)
mae m or f by sense (plural maes)
Contraction of yma yw (literally “here is”). It is NOT from "yma yw" because Breton is nasal (emañ), so there must have been an "n" in there. Probably from 'in he man esti' = 'In this place is'.
mae
Has a plural meaning when used in conjunction with a plural noun. In conjunction with a pronoun, the form maen is used instead.
