Cognates include Lithuanian mãkas, Old Prussian dantimax (gums) (dantis (tooth)), Old Church Slavonic мошьна (mošĭna), Russian мошна́ (mošná, small bag or pouch), Old High German maga, German Magen (stomach).[1]
