Indonesian

The sleeves layered by T-shirt on this image are known as manset (senses 1–2).

Etymology

Borrowed from Dutch manchet, from French manchette, from manche + -ette. The first four senses are an extension of compound manset lengan (lit. arm manchette), introduced first likely on mid-2010s to refer tight detachable sleeves with a short-sleeved T-shirt when combined with veils, and later also to refer base layers (both male and female). The original sense "cuff" is quickly displaced by the current meaning.
