Hinde (1904) records mbēu as an equivalent of English seeds in “Jogowini dialect” of Kikuyu, listing also “Ulu dialect” (spoken then from Machakos to coastal area) of Kamba mbēū and Swahili mbegu as its equivalents.[1]
