Non-Sino-Vietnamese reading of Chinese 舞 (SV: vũ). Cognate with Chut kumúa.

This item was borrowed sometime after the OC stage, when the rime had already shifted (based on the Chứt lemma, which still preserves the trace of OC pre-initial *k- according to BS, the timing of the borrowing wouldn't have been very far off). For a similar case of borrowing, compare búa.
