Hinde (1904) records ndaka as an equivalent of English clay, dirt, mud in “Jogowini dialect” of Kikuyu, listing also Kamba ndakuju ndakuju (“dirt”) and tutandaka (“clay”) (“Nganyawa dialect”, spoken then in Kitui District) as its equivalents.
