Etymology

From nopal +‎ -ery (suffix forming nouns indicating places of arts, crafts, or practices), modelled after French nopalerie. Nopal is borrowed from Spanish nopal, from Classical Nahuatl nohpalli (cactus of the genus Opuntia), from Proto-Uto-Aztecan .
