From skibidi (“a nonlexical vocable used in scat singing”). The jocular nonsense word is derived from the YouTube web series Skibidi Toilet (2023–present), which took the vocable from the 2022 song "Dom Dom Yes Yes" by Bulgarian singer Biser King. It was originally used (albeit still humorously) by younger children who viewed the series, incidentally part of Generation Alpha, and later popularised online as an ostensible example of "brain rot". • This sense was coined or popularised by a short viral song on the video-sharing social media platform TikTok utilising Internet slang associated with Generation Alpha entitled “Gyatstacy” (but more commonly known as “Sticking Out Your Gyat for the Rizzler”)^[1] by the user @ovp.9. A parody of the song "ecstacy", the debut single by SUICIDAL-IDOL, @ovp.9 sings “you're so skibidi” and “you're so Fanum tax”; Fanum tax, a proper noun, refers to the playful taking of the portion of a friend's food without permission. As such, it is not an adjective, and neither was skibidi before the song's release.
