Back-formation from számkiűz, created during the Hungarian language reform, which took place in the 18th–19th centuries, by the analogy of számkivet, by surface analysis szám +‎ kivet, originally számki (out of number, not in use anymore, from szám +‎ ki) +‎ vet.[1]
