Inherited from Ottoman Turkish تصادفاً (tesādüfen),[1] from Arabic تَصَادُفًا (taṣādufan) adverbial accusative of تَصَادُف (taṣāduf, coincidence), verbal noun of تَصَادَفَ (taṣādafa, to meet by chance).[2] Compare Uzbek tasodifan, Uyghur تاسادىپەن (tasadipen) and Azerbaijani təsadüfən.
