Vietnamese
Pronunciation
Etymology 1
From Middle Vietnamese blào.
Even if this word was not derived from Chinese 潮 (cháo) (SV: triều) (since it is not possible to expain the labial-lateral ‹bl-› cluster attested in Middle Vietnamese with 潮), trào almost certainly received significant semantic influence from the Sinitic word.
Verb
trào • (潮)
- to overflow, to brim over
2013, Ngọc Tài Trần, Thường Huệ Nguyên, Cốt tủy thực dưỡng, Công ty Văn hóa Hương Trang, page 145:Thêm muối và nấu nhừ trong 1 giờ (đậy hở nắp và đừng cho cháo trào).- Add salt and let stew thoroughly for one hour (lid partially on and avoid the congee boiling over).

Etymology 2
Non-Sino-Vietnamese reading of Chinese 潮 (“tide”, SV: triều).
Might be considered Sino-Vietnamese proper and not just a non-Sino-Vietnamese reading.
Noun
trào
- (only in compounds) tide
