     Nếu khái niệm của “vòng 1” làm báo mạng tiếng Anh ngại thì khái niệm của “vòng 3” làm các tờ chạy mất monitor luôn. “Vòng 3” tiếng Anh dịch gần nhất là “hips”. Thợ may người Việt đo vòng 3, thợ may người Anh đo hips. Nhưng từ “hips” nghe nhẹ nhàng hơn nhiều. “Hips” chủ yếu nhắc hai bên trái và phải (thế mới là danh từ số nhiều có chữ “s” ở cuối), còn “vòng 3” là… cả một vòng.

     If the concept of the “first loop” makes the English-language online media queasy, then the “third loop” would make them drop their monitors and run for their lives. The “third loop” is best translated into English as “hips”. Vietnamese dressmakers measure the third loop, English-speaking ones do hips. But “hips” sounds a lot less risqué. “Hips” mainly refers to the left and right parts (hence the pluralizing “s” at the end), while the “third loop” is… an entire loop.
