1. (politics) to become liberalised

     فَأَنْتَ مَثَلًا لَا تَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ تَقُولَ أَنَّ فُلَانًا «تَلَبْرَلَ» أَيْ دَخَلَ فِي ٱللِّيبِرَالِيَّةِ أَوْ تَبَنَّى نَهْجَهَا

     fa-ʔanta maṯalan lā tastaṭīʕu ʔan taqūla ʔanna fulānan “talabrala” ʔay daḵala fi l-lībirāliyyati ʔaw tabannā nahjahā

     So you, for example, can't say that so-and-so was "liberalised", that is, embraced liberalism or adopted its path

     وَوَجَدُوا فِي ٱللِّيبِرَالِيَّةِ ٱللَّوْحَ ٱلَّذِي يَرْكُبُونَ بِهِ ٱلْمَوْجَةَ ٱلصَّاعِدَةَ، تَلَبْرَلُوا

     wa-wajadū fi l-lībirāliyyati l-lawḥa llaḏī yarkubūna bihi l-mawjata ṣ-ṣāʕidata, talabralū

     And in liberalism, they found the platform to ride the rising wave on, they became liberals

     وَمَعْرُوفٌ أَنَّ هٰذَا ٱلْإِخْوَنْجِيَّ كَانَ قَدْ تَلَبْرَلَ قَبْلَ ذٰلِكَ

     wa-maʕrūfun ʔanna hāḏā l-ʔiḵwanjiyya kāna qad talabrala qabla ḏālika

     And it's known that this member of the Muslim Brotherhood had already turned liberal before that.
