เสรีภาพ

From เสรี (sěe-rii, “free”) +‎ ภาพ (pâap, “state; condition”); calque of English freedom; coined by King Rama VI of Siam (reigned 1910–1925),^[1] perhaps before 1920, as the term appears in the Thai translation of the King James Bible which was carried out from 1920 to 1940.

เสรีภาพ • (sěe-rii-pâap)

     มาตรา ๒๖ การตรากฎหมายที่มีผลเป็นการจำกัดสิทธิหรือเสรีภาพของบุคคลต้องเป็นไปตามเงื่อนไขที่บัญญัติไว้ในรัฐธรรมนูญ ในกรณีที่รัฐธรรมนูญมิได้บัญญัติเงื่อนไขไว้ กฎหมายดังกล่าวต้องไม่ขัดต่อหลักนิติธรรม ไม่เพิ่มภาระหรือจำกัดสิทธิหรือเสรีภาพของบุคคลเกินสมควรแก่เหตุ และจะกระทบต่อศักดิ์ศรีความเป็นมนุษย์ของบุคคลมิได้

     Section 26 The enactment of a law which result in the restriction of a right or freedom of people must be in line with the conditions that are set forth in the Constitution. In the event that the Constitution has not provided any condition, the said law must not be contrary to the principles of the rule of law, must not excessively increase a burden or restrict the right or freedom of people, and cannot affect the human dignity of people.
