품다

First attested in the Neung'eomgyeong eonhae (楞嚴經諺解 / 능엄경언해), 1461, as Middle Korean 품〮다〮 (Yale: phwúm-tá), apparently derived directly from the noun 품 (pum, “bosom; embrace”). Compare Jeju 쿰다 (kumda, “to embrace”), which may suggest an ancestral *pk- cluster, i.e. *pkwúm-.
